March 29, 2025 (EIRNS)—Israel launched a strike on a suburb of the Lebanese capital Friday, the first such attack on Beirut since late last year, when Hezbollah and Israel agreed to a ceasefire that ended months of deadly fighting. Israel also conducted strikes on more than 10 Lebanese towns and villages in the country’s south and east Friday, attacks that continued into the night, according to Lebanese state media, as reported in the Washington Post.
