    A healthy and beauty chain has opened its largest store in the country at Meadowhall selling products, services, treatments and blood tests. Superdrug has unveiled a 10,199 sq ft space on High Street next to Victoria Secret after being forced to move by a huge expansion of JD Sports, also on High Street. Earlier this year Superdrug said it would be their ‘biggest in the UK’. It just beats a store at the Westfield shopping centre in London which opened last summer and is 9,890 sq ft.

    A much-loved lollipop lady opened a furniture shop in Sheffield after being chosen by the local community. Local hero Jackie Higginbottom cut the ribbon on a new Shackletons shop at Fox Valley in Stocksbridge after bosses asked residentswho they would like to do it. Jackie has worked in Deepcar as a lollipop lady for 50 years and received a British Empire Medal from the King in his first New Year’s Honours List. Shackletons gave her a gift hamper as a thank you for her starring role.

    A few Tramlines tickets are still available as the Sheffield music festival looks set to sell out again. The Tramlines website is advertising ‘final Sunday’ tickets on sale now, with Friday, Saturday and Weekend already sold out. The cost is £80, plus 10 per cent booking fee and £2 transaction fee. A VIP Sunday ticket is advertised at £110, but with a 10 per cent booking fee and £2 transaction fee, punters will be paying £123. This year’s festival at Hillsborough Park is on July 25-27.

    Meadowhall has announced the closure of a major sports fashion brand. JD Sports on lower High Street has closed for a refurbishment set to triple the size of its current store and create the second biggest in the UK, the company says, opening in 2026. A temporary store has opened on The Gallery next to Primark. JD is famous for having very loud music which can be heard all along the mall.
