ONA – Nicole Harris and Baylee Smith paced a potent Cabell Midland attack Monday, sparking the Knights to a 10-2, run-rule win over Winfield in high school softball at Paul Adams Field. Harris, who leads off, and Smith, No. 3 in the order, each went 4 for 4 and the Knights finished with 15 hits in just five innings. Hayla Norris added a 3-hit day and also drove in a team-high four runs. “Keep it going until the middle of May,” Knights coach Herman Beckett said.

When the day ended, no one else in the field equaled or surpassed Bilby and he held a 2-shot lead over pro David Scragg of Scott Depot and amateur Lee van Horn of Huntington after round one at Guyan Golf and Country Club. “Pretty good,” Bilby said of the effort.
