Player Information/Pairings/Results April 22, 2025The rights of the title for the annual NCGA East Bay Zone Championship came down to a playoff. In what was a thriller, both Blackhawk CC and Castlewood CC finished regulation tied after both came in with matching team scores of 25-under 261 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team. In the playoff, Blackhawk CC prevailed to win. But Castlewood CC also got a reward.

Pairings/Leaderboard/Results April 14, 2025Napa Golf Club is the team to chase at this week's annual NCGA North Bay Zone Championship. Napa GC, made up of teammates Robert Becker, Jonathen Sakamoto, Azhar Karimi and Vincent Dass, carded an opening score of 22-under 120 Monday at Poppy Hills playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team. In second place at 128 is StoneTree GC. Bodega Harbour Men's GC is in third place at 130.

SEASIDE, California (KION) -- Seaside Police announced Monday that Officer John Crivello, an officer accused of using excessive force on a teenager in December 2023, was found to have not used excessive force through an independent third party investigation. Police say that Officer Crivello will return to active duty following the completion of his disciplinary action and training.

By Derrick OwIn golf, you never know what memories you’ll create during each round. That adage rang true Jan. 15 at Merced Golf and Country Club. Two brothers, Bobby and Dave Johnson, created some golfing magic in the Central Valley as both posted eagles on back-to-back holes while playing in their usual weekly round. The group got to the par-4, 312-yard 15th hole where the fireworks started.

Green Valley CC and Ancil Hoffman GC both punched their tickets to this year's Player's League State Championship after advancing through Monday's NorCal Finals at Poppy Hills. Green Valley CC (photo above) moved on through Flight 1, winning with a score of 28 points. Second place went to Corral de Tierra CC with 19 points. In Flight 2 action, Ancil Hoffman GC (photo below) took the title after knocking off Lone Tree GC in a playoff after both teams finished regulation tied at 37.

Three players took home co-medalist honors--Santa Cruz native Peter Wood, Mark Sanchez of Kentfield and Michael Rowley of San Luis Obispo all finished with a score of 1-over 72.

Seaside Police enforcing new rules to prevent illegal fireworks SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV)- Seaside Police is set to enforce new rules to curb illegal fireworks this year for the Fourth of July. Officers say there will be a 10:00 p.m. curfew in place on Fourth of July. There will also be a no parking allowed along General Jim Moore Boulevard. Police want to remind people that safe and sane fireworks will be the only ones allowed.

People living in Pajaro are invited to share their thoughts on improving issues along local streets which includes lighting, traffic problems and ways to improve pedestrian traffic. The meeting will be on June 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Assumption Church in Pajaro.
