BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Multiple agencies along the Big Sur Coast were able to rescue a hiker who fell 200 feet down a cliff on Monday. Video from the CHP Coastal Division shows the rescue. The crew saying due to the tall trees along Coast Ridge Road and Pine Ridge Trail, they had a hard time navigating their hoist cable between the trees to perform the rescue. Still, the crew's persistence paid off and they were able to pull the hiker up and out of the area.

CHP: One person killed in fiery crash along Shore Road in San Benito County SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV): The CHP confirms officers are investigating a deadly crash along Shore Road near the San Benito/Santa Clara County line. The CHP says the crash involved one vehicle east of Lake Road. According to investigators, the vehicle was traveling westbound when it veered off the road for unknown reasons and overturned.

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The CHP is confirming one person is dead after a crash south of Salinas along Abbott Street. The crash was first reported just after 1 a.m. along Abbott near the Mann Packaging facility. CHP officers at the scene tell KION two vehicles collided head-on, with one person pronounced dead in the aftermath. The other individual was transported to Natividad for treatment. No identifying information was immediately available of the victim.

(KION-TV) -- The CHP confirms they're investigating a deadly crash in Santa Cruz County along Highway 1 near Soquel Avenue. Southbound Highway 1 in the area is closed as a result. The CHP says traffic is being diverted onto Morrissey Boulevard as they continue to investigate. No identifying information of the vehicle/s involved were provided.

(KION-TV) -- Monterey Fire is responding to a fire at the Carl's Jr along Lighthouse Avenue. Firefighters are dealing with a large amount of smoke coming from the building.
