PG&E reporting power outages in the Castroville area CASTROVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- PG&E is reporting more than three thousand people are without power in the Castroville area this morning. The outages stretch outside of Castroville into the edge of Marina, Salinas and Prunedale. PG&E reports the outage was first indicated around 4 a.m.Power is expected to be restored around 11 a.m.. The cause of the outage is only listed as an "unplanned outage."

Dr. Pepper is a charming bob-tail kitty with a big personality who loves hanging out with his favorite humans. Dr. Pepper was brought to AFRP with a urinary blockage and is looking for a patient person to take him into their home. Dr. Pepper was also diagnosed with Manx syndrome, a congenial condition associated with his bob-tail.

Construction forces ramp closures along Highway 101, 25 overnight starting Friday SOUTH SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority announced ramps will be closed on Friday May 30 into the following day for construction along a portion of Highway 101. The VTA says the closure is for the off-ramp from southbound 101 to Highway 25 and the on-ramp from Highway 25 to southbound 101. The closure will last from Friday at 9 pm into Saturday morning at 6 am.

(KION-TV) -- The City of Seaside announced longtime fire department staff member, Paul Blaha, is named the city's new fire chief. Chief Blaha started his career with the city back in 1992. The city says his tenure was marked by a focus on public safety, collaborative leadership and a passion for mentoring coworkers and engaging with the community.

Some power restored after reports of outages early Tuesday morning CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV) -- PG&E has restored power to more than 2,600 customers after outages were reported early Tuesday morning in the Del Rey Oaks area. Some outages remain in the Watsonville and Freedom area, which initially saw more than 8,000 people without power. The cause of the outages is still unclear.
