MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAW/Gray News) - A Wisconsin high school baseball team honored their 15-year-old teammate whose family says he took his own life after becoming a victim of sextortion. The first junior varsity baseball game of the season for DC Everest Senior High School was held Tuesday in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The team took the field without one of their own, 15-year-old Bradyn Bohn, who died by suicide in March after becoming a victim of sextortion, according to his mother, Brittney Bird.

MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) - Lawmakers from central Wisconsin have introduced a bill that would create new penalties for the crime of sextortion. ‘Bradyn’s Law’ is named in honor of 15-year-old Bradyn Bohn, who died by suicide after becoming a victim of sextortion. In Wisconsin, sextortion is not a specific crime. Instead, a suspect would likely be charged with “Threats to Communicate Derogatory Info” or “Solicit Intimate Representation from Minor”.

MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAW) - The Mosinee Police Department is investigating a series of tire-slashing incidents that occurred over the weekend. Mosinee Police Chief Kenneth Grams tells NewsChannel 7 they were notified of the damage Saturday morning. He says the incidents took place late Friday night into early Saturday morning. In total, 13 vehicles were targeted and 22 tires were deflated. The Mosinee Police Department began investigating the incidents and identified two juvenile suspects.

ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAW) - The peregrine falcon nest box at Wisconsin Public Service’s Weston Power Plant is growing thanks to an exciting new addition. The first peregrine falcon egg of the season is now being cared for inside the facility’s nest box. Proud parents Sheldon and an unbanded female falcon welcomed their first egg of the year this past weekend. This is Sheldon’s 10th year nesting at the Weston Power Plant and likely the second for the unbanded female falcon.
