The Empire State Development (ESD) on Thursday voted to approve the conversion of 5 Times Square, a 38-story building office on 7th Avenue between 41st and 42nd Streets.

Designed by innovative architect Marcel Breuer, the building at 945 Madison Avenue was home to the Whitney Museum of American Art from 1966 to 2014.
