Dan Regan, of New City, will once again have an "Artist Costume Ball" at his home on Woodland Road on Sept. 28, with a rain date of Oct. 5. At 90 years young, he continues to express himself and support others doing the same. "It's fun,” said Regan. “And I feel I'm helping the artist to go forward in their movement." In several weeks, there will be 150 mannequins and dozens of canvases made by local artists displayed on his property.

The Nyack Farmers Market served more than goods Thursday when it sent love and well wishes to a vendor recovering from an accident earlier this month. Dozens signed a "get well sooner than soon" poster from the Nyack Farmers Market organizers for Devon Larkins, who mans the Doc Pickles stand. "Doc Pickle and myself, we love Nyack," said Larkins in a phone interview with News 12.

A 27-year-old from North Rockland is heading to the Olympic Games in Paris, representing Ireland in shot put. Eric Favors, who graduated from North Rockland High School, has dual citizenship. The last time Ireland was represented in the sport at the Olympic level was 30 years ago before he was born. News 12 spoke with his family Wednesday as Favors trains and prepares for his debut. "It's always been his dream and the first day I cried, it was probably the other day. I'm just very proud of him.

News 12 went to the fire training center in Pomona on Monday to watch 19 volunteer firefighters work to become certified to serve their communities. News 12 was told they have been spending the last few weeks - eight hours a day Monday through Friday - learning the ropes. Even through the intense heat. News 12's camera caught them gaining experience for real world situations on Monday - as they prepare to the join the ranks in departments that look for more volunteers.
