SWANTON, Ohio — A local nonprofit is creating a powerful space for veterans to connect and heal. Each second Saturday of the month, the organization H.O.O.V.E.S. hosts “Heroes Hangout” in Swanton, providing veterans from across the region a chance to build bonds, share experiences and find peace, sometimes with the help of a horse. H.O.O.V.E.S. is a nonprofit that uses equestrian therapy to support veterans coping with trauma.
