    The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is taking new steps to prevent graffiti at bus shelters. The KCATA is introducing brand new graffiti-resistant shelters. These new shelters are made up of a mesh metal, replacing the previous plexiglass walls, which were more prone to graffiti. The material of these new walls is supposed to make it more difficult to vandalize. "The material on the outside, the metal, perforated, is not as easy to write on with a Sharpie, but you can write on it.

    Starting Friday, May 23, teens under 18 will have to follow a curfew in Kansas City areas like the Country Club Plaza, and store owners and community leaders are hoping young people's time is spent wisely this summer. The return of curfew applies to entertainment districts including 18th and Vine, the business district downtown, Westport, Zona Rosa and the Plaza, which has been a notorious hot spot in the last several years for crime.
