Construction, increased traffic and industry expansion are all evidence of growth in Morristown that has been confirmed by recent Census data. Since 2020, the data shows that the population of Morristown has grown by 8.25%, ranking its growth by percentile 10th in state; Morristown’s population was 30,549 in 2020 and is 32,994 as of the last reported data collected from 2024. “I think all of us, that's not surprising to us that we have that kind of growth,” Morristown Mayor Gary Chesney said.

The Hamblen County Garden Club is holding their annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 31 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Budget Auto Clinic, 3915 W. The Morristown Hamblen Humane Society has partnered with Petsense to have the pet supply store located at 110 W. Morris Boulevard host this Saturday’s Stock the Shelves event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.The Society’s shelter is in dire need of supplies to help with their “full-to-the-brim” status. “When it’s like this, we have to put them in the bathroom, we put them in the kitchen, we have them in crates… it’s very difficult,” kennel technician Lisa Bolden said.
