Hundreds of children showed up and participated in managed chaos as they scrounged for Easter eggs at East Eggsellent adventure at Fulton-Hill Park in Morristown on Tuesday. Grouped by age to make the fierce pursuit of candy fairer, smiles broke out on faces as the brightly colored eggs were broken into. With help from sponsors and the community, Morristown Parks and Recreation put on another fun, family event that is becoming a highlight of the spring season in the city.

For South Hamblen County Volunteer Fire Department, taking care of auto fires on the interstate is a regular occurrence; just this past Sunday, they were dispatched to the scene of a semi-truck on fire. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of public safety on the interstate, but, when a larger emergency response is needed on any Hamblen County section of I-81, South is usually getting sent out. “We cover all 10 miles of Hamblen County interstate,” South Hamblen Chief Kevin Jarnagin said.

Founded in 1955, The Country Club in Morristown has been serving up some of the best golf and club amenities to be found in Tennessee for decades. On Saturday night, the club celebrated its 70 years of member-driven success by throwing its first Presidents Ball. 80 members showed up “dressed to the nines.”“The Country Club has meant so much to this community,” former club president and current member Jerry Isaacs said.

Girls Incorporated of Hamblen County had a stellar turnout at their 2025 Taste of Morristown event at Walters State Community College. With over 1,000 in attendance, Executive Director Amy Register was pleased to see the continued support for the organization. “This event supports our 8-week summer program, where we serve 150-plus girls (through things like) field trips and new experiences,” she said.
