HONOLULU (Island News) -- Hawaii officials have filed the first building permit for the redevelopment of Aloha Stadium. Island News has learned that the state Department of Accounting and General Services filed a $9 million alteration permit Friday for the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District. The building permit signals the start of the process of redeveloping the stadium and surrounding areas. The stadium was built in 1975.
