LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - As we get into the dog days of summer, a popular spot to head out to here in the Derby City is Louisville Slugger Field, home of the Cincinnati Reds’ AAA affiliate, the Louisville Bats. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - During this time of year, everybody is looking at who the early Kentucky Derby favorites are. As we inch closer to Kentucky Derby 151, more faces and more horses are making their way to Churchill Downs. While Bob Baffert hasn’t made his appearance on the backside yet, his horse, Rodrigues, has. However, the big story so far has been early Derby favorite Journalism making his first appearance at the track with trainer Michael McCarthy.

Just a few feet away from where Hank clobbered that Al Downing fastball. When a 6.9 magnitude earthquake rocked the Bay during the '89 World Series between the A's and the Giants, I was there. Crouched down in a lunchroom doorway at the stadium, eating my banana nut bread. The first high five in history?
