BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Gott Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a meet and greet event for the community next week. The event will provide an opportunity for the Gott community to voice their questions, concerns, and comments in a positive environment. BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - To help kids start off their school year, Texas Roadhouse in Bowling Green will be hosting a ‘Back 2 School Kids Night’. The event will feature a kindness rock garden kickoff hosted by the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, free school supplies, and free kids vouchers for their next visit. Community businesses and organizations in the area will also be providing games, candy, school supplies, and more.
Bowling Green Police searching for vehicle, suspect involved in multiple car thefts

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Bowling Green Police Department is looking for a vehicle and suspect that were involved in multiple car thefts in the area. Police say the vehicle is a blue SUV and at least one of the occupants broke into 2 cars at the water park and stole multiple credit cards. The suspect is described as a black male, between 25-30 years old, who is dressed in all black clothing. If you have any information regarding this vehicle, call BGPD at (270) 393-4000. Police arrest 2 after traffic stop in Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - Two people were arrested following a traffic stop in Allen County Tuesday morning. Deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Old Gallatin Road. Police discovered the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Burgett, had an active warrant for his arrest. The driver of the vehicle, Tammy Hammock, was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing methamphetamine and multiple Xanax pills.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - On Saturday night, this year’s Miss Kentucky was crowned in front of a packed crowd right here in Bowling Green. Bowling Green native Chapel Tinius, ended her night at SkyPac taking the crown and the 2024 Miss Kentucky sash. Many took to social media to congratulate her on the accomplishment, including Potter Gray Elementary who said she was once a Potter Gray Panther. Tinius also took to social media to express her gratitude and thank the many who made her win happen.
Franklin man arrested on domestic violence charges

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - Scottsville Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Scottsville Police department around 7 P.M. in reference to a domestic assault report. The victim reported that 30-year-old Michael D. Chastain of Franklin, had assaulted the victim while at a residence in Scottsville.
WCSO respond to suspicious bag left at Warren County Courthouse

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Warren County Sheriff’s office were on scene at the Warren County Courthouse after receiving calls regarding a suspicious bag late Monday night. Sheriff Brett Hightower confirmed to us that out of caution, WCSO blocked off a large part of the courthouse and reviewed footage that showed two men leaving the bag there before leaving. WCSO contacted the FBI EOD and Kentucky State Police for further assistance and X-ray the contents of the bag.
Free self-defense class for FSHS Senior girls

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Franklin Police Department is offering a free safety and self defense class for FSHS Senior girls in June. Topics covered during the safety class feature reading body language, awareness and surroundings training, defensive techniques and practicing strikes and kicks. Participants must be 17 years or older and minors must have a parent signature. The deadline to register is May 31, while the classes take place at the Franklin Police Department on June 22.
City of Bowling Green to host employment open house this week

The event lets participants explore the 10 different departments that comprise the City of Bowling Green’s workforce to aid them in their job search. There will also be City staff available to give information on the different positions and benefits they have available.
