Police search for Benton murder suspect

Russell is accused of killing Lia Thompson, 49, at her home in Benton last month. Police said the murder was a targeted incident. KSP said evidence was presented to a Marshall County Grand Jury that resulted in an indictment against Russell, 48, of Cadiz. Detectives are actively searching for Russell.

Rowe is a rising sophomore transferring from Southern Mississippi. Rowe is the first addition from the transfer portal head coach Greg Collins has added this offseason. Rowe was the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2024-25 and was named Kentucky Miss Basketball in 2024 at the conclusion of her career at Pikeville High School.
