PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — A new store is helping neighbors have better access to healthy food. Supermarket Gonzalez is opening its doors on the eastside of Pueblo. The store is inside a former Dollar Tree building. The aisles are full of food, shelves are stuffed with cans, and containers are overflowing with rice, beans, potatoes and apples. Supermarket Gonzalez is now open and ready for customers. “It's a one stop place for groceries,” said Evans Gonzalez, owner and founder of Supermarket Gonzalez.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — Nearly 3,000,000 people will visit Lake Pueblo State Park this summer. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is expecting to see more children and families heading to the lake in the coming weeks as schools let out for summer break. CPW added a new resource they hope will help keep people stay safe this summer at the lake. If you’re headed to the lake this year, make sure to grab your life jacket.

PUEBLO — The future of a Pueblo charter school is uncertain after Pueblo School District 60 (D60) did not renew its charter earlier this year. On Thursday, students and teachers at Chavez-Huerta Preparatory Academy are trying to save their school. Starting at the Pueblo County Courthouse, teachers and staff of Chavez-Huerta Preparatory Academy held a demonstration march in support of their school. “One more time to let our voices be heard,” said Fred Segura, Executive Director of Chavez-Huerta.

On Tuesday night, Pueblo City Council will discuss whether Safeside Recovery should take over the shelter full time. What does this mean for those who use the shelter?
