    PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — It’s full speed ahead for boat rangers John Merson and Corey Felzien. They are apart of Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s (CPW) team at Lake Pueblo State Park. For Merson and Felzien, safety patrols are apart of their daily routine as summer boat rangers. Boat rangers patrol Lake Pueblo, making sure people are wearing their life jackets. “We're going to go across the lake and see if there's still somebody over there reported that there's somebody with no life jacket,” said Merson.

    PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — A viewer reached out to News5 with safety concerns about an intersection in Pueblo near Lake Minnequa Park. In the email, she asked why the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) canceled the funding for a traffic light at Mirror Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard, which is located near Lake Minnequa. “The intersection is very busy,” said Cate Roldan, who can see the Mirror Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard intersection from her front yard.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — A food pantry in Colorado Springs says federal cuts are putting a financial strain on the nonprofit. The Executive Director of Food to Power, Patience Kabwasa, said the nonprofit will not get a nearly $350,000 grant this year from the EPA. How will this impact families who rely on this resource for fresh food? Kabwasa said they will not cut any food resources, but they are scaling back education programs and pausing the youth summer internship.

    PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — This summer, Pueblo School District 60 (D60) is serving free lunches to children under the age of 18. Kids can pick up a free meal Monday through Friday at different locations around Pueblo. It's all through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the USDA. The program provides free meals to children during the summer months when school is out. “We get reimbursed for the meals we serve through the USDA.

Results show Heather Graham will be the next mayor of Pueblo. According the the city of Pueblo’s website, Graham received 62.9% of the votes. @KOAA
