MinnPost to join AP's local newsroom pilot

MinnPost’s readers might have noticed some Associated Press stories and election results graphics on our site during election season last fall. We’re pleased to announce that MinnPost will be part of an expanded pilot program to give local newsrooms access to AP stories and photos. Readers will notice AP journalism on our site in the coming weeks to complement the in-depth and explanatory reporting our nonprofit newsroom is producing about Minnesota.

MinnPost is seeking a photojournalist to produce in-depth storytelling through photography and videos. This visual journalist will report on how state and local policies affect everyday Minnesotans. We often see visual symbols of a certain policy playing out, such as a new fence keeping unhoused people out of an area. The visual journalist seeks out these cues and spends time with people experiencing the issue.
MinnPost selected to host a CatchLight Local Fellowship/Report for America visual journalist

MinnPost has been selected as one of 12 newsrooms across the nation to host a fellow starting on July 7, 2025, as part of the CatchLight Local Fellowship program in partnership with Report for America. Through photos and videos, the visual journalist will help illuminate MinnPost stories on our site, social media and newsletters. The program is two years with the potential to renew for a third year. The fellowship application is open now until Monday, Feb. 3.
