    NATIONWIDE – Popular snacks – Casa Mamita Churro Bites Filled with Chocalate Hazelnut Cream – sold at Aldi grocery stores have been recalled out of concern about undeclared ingredients that could affect those with allergies or severe sensitivity to milk.  According to a recall announcement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), individuals with these allergies or sensitivity who eat the Churro Bites could experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

    BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ  – Burlington County health officials are urging residents to be cautious after the first case of H5N1 avian influenza, also known as bird flu, was detected in a bird in the county this week. The Burlington County Health Department is urging area residents to take precautions by avoiding contact with any sick or dead birds that they may encounter.

    MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – National sewing, fabric, crafts, and notions retailer Joann fabrics announced on Wednesday that it will be closing a large swath of stores nationwide. The fabric giant is closing 533 of its approximately 800 stores around the country.  At least one store will be closed in each state, except Hawaii.  In addition to the Mount Laurel store, Joann is closing New Jersey stores in Lawrenceville, Deptford, Mays Landing, Succasunna, and Toms River.

    NATIONWIDE – Kohl's superstores announced on Thursday a significant reduction in its retail footprint with the closure of 27 stores, including one in central Jersey. There are currently 38 Kohl's stores in New Jersey with a total of 1,150 stores nationwide.  The East Windsor store located at 72 Princeton Hightstown Road will be closing. The company said this and other “underperforming” stores will be closing by April 2025.

    NEW JERSEY – A popular cold medicine sold at Costco superstores is being recalled due to the potential for the presence of a foreign contaminant. The recall applied to Kirkland brand of Severe Cold and Flu medicine that was sold between October 30, 2024 and November 30, 2024.  According to LNK Manufacturers  - an over-the-counter pharmaceutical distributor – said the recall was voluntarily initiated after the discovery of an accidental release of a lot of the medicine that was rejected.
