LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) – A man is dead after what investigators believe was a sniper-style shooting in a quiet Lee County neighborhood Sunday evening. Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones confirms a suspect is in custody and the community is not in danger. Oscar Eiland, 58, was sitting on the porch of his home along Lee Road 685 when he was shot from a distance with a rifle, according to neighbors. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on June 1st.

(WRBL) – A high-speed chase through Auburn ended with multiple crashes and the arrest of five Montgomery teenagers who allegedly stole from two local businesses, including CVS, according to police. On the evening of May 28, Auburn Police say they responded to theft reports at a business in the 700 block of East Glenn Avenue and another in the 300 block of South College Street. Officers say both stores provided similar descriptions of the suspects involved.
