    Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies were working to recover a body found in the Willamette River just north of the Steel Bridge on Saturday afternoon — the fifth to be found in the river in the past month. County sheriff’s office spokesperson Deputy John Plock said the latest body was reported at 2:10 p.m., and the agency’s river patrol was dispatched. Once the body is recovered, it will be transferred to the county medical examiner to determine the person’s identity and how they died.

    The founder of Dutch Bros and one of Oregon’s richest residents, Travis Boersma, has a horse in the most anticipated race of the year. Owen Almighty, at the No. 20 post in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby, is owned by Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing LLC, Boersma’s racing operation, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper. Boersma made his fortune in the coffee and caffeinated drinks business.

    Clackamas County on Saturday formally debuted a new courthouse to replace the undersized, seismically vulnerable structure it’s used since 1936. The new courthouse at the county’s Red Soils government campus in Oregon City will increase the number of courtrooms available from 11 to 16, which the county said will reduce hearing and trial delays. It also adds jury space and separate, secured “circulation zones” for defendants and others in police custody.

    Lingering rain showers were expected to fade early Saturday, leaving behind mostly cloudy skies and a slightly cooler weekend. But sunny, warm weather may make a return later in the week — in a big way. In Portland on Saturday, the National Weather Service expects a high temperature of 62 degrees and mostly cloudy conditions. A cooler evening means there’s a chance for frost, especially in the Willamette Valley west of Interstate 5.
