At the Clay Township Board of Trustees’ May 27 meeting, trustees discussed the township’s contract with OHM Advisors for a feasibility study for alternative transportation to Harsens Island in the amount of $150,000. In December, the board voted 4-3 to move $150,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds from the water department fund that were allocated as revenue replacement and place them into the township’s general fund.

Lake Bonisteel Music Association will host its fifth annual Lake Bonisteel Music Association Festival June 21 in Marysville. “This year will be the fifth year the Lake Bonisteel Music Association will host LBMA Fest, a free, family-friendly music festival,” LBMA President Josh Raynard said. “We will feature seven Michigan musical acts. There will be a free Kids’ Zone, where kids can do crafts, play games, and of course we will have our Instrument Petting Zoo.

At the Algonac City Council’s May 20 meeting, officials approved several items, including a proposal for design engineering services for the Smith Street Pump Station rehabilitation, water plant supervisory control and data acquisition upgrades and more. “We have a proposal for design engineering services to rehabilitate the vertical turbine stormwater pumps at the Smith Street Pump Station,” Mayor Rocky Gillis said.

The ninth annual St. Clair Waterfront Beer, Wine and Cocktail Festival will take place at Algonac Riverfront Park on June 14. At the event, which is hosted by The Social Connection, attendees 21 and older can sample over 150 brews, wines, craft cocktails and seltzers from across the state and around the globe, a description of the event on its eventbrite.com page states. The event, which was founded in 2015, was previously was hosted in St. Clair, but moved to Algonac in 2018.
