We’re counting down the days until the beloved Greenpoint Open Studios returns at the end of May, but a new event should hold us over in the meantime. Next weekend sees the first iteration of Made in Greenpoint, designed to give neighbors a chance to stop by different artist workshops and studios spanning Calyer Street. The event stems from the city-wide Made in NYC week. Made in Greenpoint brings together 24 artists, illustrators, jewelry makers, and ceramicists.

A new tenant has officially taken over the former Greenpoint Beer and Ale Space (1150 Manhattan Ave.), but fret not, it’s still locally-owned. Scrappleland moved in last month, bringing with it pinball machines galore. And if pinball lead you to speculate on Sunshine Laundromat’s involvement, your hunch is correct. Peter Rose, Sunshine’s owner, co-owns the space alongside Ali Bisset. Greenpoint Beer and Ale closed in November and quickly changed hands.

A mysterious perpetrator has reportedly been throwing unknown substances onto unsuspecting passersby from a second floor window on Kent Avenue, above Brooklyn Harvest Market (25 North 5th St.) Though they have been lying low since news outlets picked up the story last December, they appear to be back in action, according to a recent police report.
