Community members in Marin County held a vigil on Saturday to honor four high school students who died and two others who are in critical condition following a car crash the night before. The California Highway Patrol said the students slammed into a tree, then caught fire just before 7:30 p.m. on westbound San Geronimo Valley Road south of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near Woodacre.

Diapers, strollers and car seats are the biggest brands in baby gear and the essentials all come from China. With President Donald Trump adding massive tariffs to nearly all Chinese imports, many baby essentials are soon expected to cost families a lot more. Some Bay Area parents told NBC Bay Area that they aren't experiencing sticker shock yet, but they anticipate the cost of baby gear, from diapers to bassinettes will go up. Which is why many are turning to secondhand stores.

It's a scenario that has put pressure on food banks and organizations dedicated to feeding Oakland's growing population of food-insecure families. A Daly City martial arts studio owner claims golf balls from San Francisco's Olympic Club have been flying over its fencing and coming dangerously close to children. Joseph Bautista, owner of Legacy Filipino Martial Arts, is petitioning the golf club to put a safety net up before the summer golf season heats up and the risk rises. Bautista has collected almost 30 golf balls, and he recalls standing at his studio last July when a golf ball nearly hit his 1-year-old son and another child.
