Met Eireann has forecast an unsettled Easter bank holiday weekend with plenty of rain on the way. A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry and is valid from 11pm today until 12pm tomorrow. Met Eireann warned heavy spells of rain may lead to localised flooding in those areas. Today will start dry and bright across the country but some showers will develop later this morning and through the afternoon, with cloud increasing too.

Social welfare recipients have been warned about an upcoming payment shakeup due to the bank holiday weekend. The Easter bank holiday takes place on Monday, April 21. All post offices and banks will be closed for the day, leaving recipients unable to collect their payments. This means anyone due to collect a payment on April 21 will most likely be paid early.
