A man has been killed in a hit-and-run in north Dublin. Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a serious road crash on Railway Street in Balbriggan shortly after 9 o'clock last night. A pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was struck by a car. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene. The man received emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Annie McCarrick. The 26 year old American went missing from her home in Sandymount in Dublin in March 1993. Gardaí say a man in his 60's was detained on suspicion of her murder this morning. A search operation is also underway at a house in the Clondalkin area of Dublin and the home and garden will be the subject of both technical and forensic examinations.

A former church in Dublin city centre is to be turned into a food and dining hall. Dublin city council has given Fáilte Ireland the green light to redevelop St Andrew's church on Suffolk Street. The former tourist office, that's located just off College Green and near Grafton Street, has remained mostly empty for a decade. The area is a hotspot for visitors, with the Molly Malone statue located right in front of the old church. Dee Laffan is a food journalist and Editor of Scoop Food Magazine.

Dublin city council is proposing spending close to €6 million on four new public toilets for the city centre. It follows a U-turn on plans to shut the only remaining public bathroom in the city at St Stephen's Green. The city council had planned to close temporary toilets at the top of Grafton street after a fall in demand but scrapped the idea after backlash from councillors and the public. It's now revealed proposals for four new public bathrooms.

Deliveroo has launched drone deliveries in Dublin. Over the coming days, customers in a 3 kilometre radius of Blanchardstown will be able to order from local restaurants. More food outlets will be added over time, with plans to launch grocery and retail drop-offs within the next six months. It's the first time the platform has offered drone delivery for its customers anywhere in the world. The new service, that will be operated by Manna, will be tested over the coming weeks.
