The man in his 30s was rushed to hospital in a serious condition following the crash in Swords in Dublin on Sunday the 11th of May. He died from his injuries yesterday evening. Kevin Flatley, who was killed while carrying out speed checkpoint at the time, became the 90th garda to die in the line duty. Gardaí say Family Liaison Officers are providing support to both families involved.

    Sean McGovern, a man suspected of being one of the leaders of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, spent last night in prison after his extradition from Dubai. The 39-year-old, formerly of Kildare Road, Crumlin, Dublin, was brought back to Ireland on a military aircraft to face a murder charge. He was arrested in Dubai last October and extradited back to Ireland yesterday, arriving at Casement Aerodrome in Dublin on an Irish Air Corps Airbus at about 6.30pm.

    A father of two accused of injuring a garda by knocking him down with a "high-powered" motorcycle in Dublin has been denied bail. 24 year old Christopher Reynolds, of Heatly Place, Malahide Road, Dublin 17, was arrested after the officer suffered a leg injury in Finglas at around 5.45pm yesterday. Christopher Reynolds appeared at Blanchardstown District Court today charged with assault causing harm, using a stolen vehicle, cocaine possession and having a screwdriver for use in a theft.
