    A judge has ordered the arrest of a teen accused of using a hammer and a hatchet in a gang attack on a woman held in a flat in the city last year. The 17-year-old boy faces allegations of false imprisonment and assault causing harm to the complainant, 37, at Henrietta House, Dublin 7, on September 26. The teen, who cannot be named because he is a minor, is also accused of producing a metal pole, hammer and hatchet during the alleged attack.

Gardai responded to reports of a serious assault in Kilcronan View in Clondalkin at half 12. A man in his 20s is being treated in Tallaght Hospital. Gardai are appealing for witnesses.

    Dublin city centre's only public toilets are to close. The city council is planning to remove the temporary bathrooms at St Stephen's Green because of reduced demand and the current operator ceasing trading. Around 1,500 people a week are using the toilets, significantly lower than when the bathrooms were added during the pandemic in 2020. They cost almost €400,000 a year to operate.

    A series of raids in Dublin has uncovered a pump-action shotgun, ammunition and motorbikes. Gardaí in Finglas led the operation yesterday morning, with support from gardaí in Blanchardstown and Cabra, armed officers and the dog unit. Eight searches were carried out at homes in the north Dublin area. It's the latest in a number of raids in recent days after a pipe bomb attached to a drone, that was targeting a criminal's home, crash landed in an innocent family's garden.
