ATLANTIC CITY — Caesars Entertainment launched its first proprietary online casino game Tuesday, debuting it in New Jersey. Caesars Palace Signature Multihand Blackjack Surrender went live on Caesars Palace Online Casino in the Garden State. The launch is Caesars’ first venture into developing, certifying and launching proprietary online casino games. It will eventually be expanded to other gambling markets across the Horseshoe Online Casino and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino brands.

LACEY TOWNSHIP — A massive forest fire that burned 15,300 acres of New Jersey Pinelands in Ocean County was finally declared 100% contained Monday, nearly three weeks after it started. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service made the declaration at 2 p.m.The fire broke out April 22 in Waretown and quickly spread north to Lacey Township, chasing 7,000 people from their homes.

TRENTON — New Jersey lawmakers are considering banning gambling ads from being placed in or near schools or colleges, and want to study the effect of certain words or phrases in gambling advertisements on bettors. A state Assembly panel advanced a bill Thursday that would empower the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to prohibit placement of gambling ads in or near schools or colleges, as well as in any media that prominently targets people under the legal gambling age of 21.

TRENTON — Children between the ages of 12 and 17 could be allowed onto some beaches for free or at reduced prices under a bill being considered in the New Jersey Legislature. The state Senate Community and Urban Affairs committee on Monday advanced the bill, which would give municipalities the option to offer free or reduced admission to teenagers until they turn 18.
