Two people were killed and two others left in critical condition, including a child, following a rollover crash on the westbound 60 Freeway in Chino early Monday morning. The crash was reported around 2 a.m. just west of the Ramona Avenue onramp. Video from the scene showed the badly damaged vehicle after it had crashed into the embankment. Two unidentified adult victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Chino Valley Fire District spokesperson Dean Smith confirmed.

Concern is growing among experts and the public alike over a whale trapped for several days in the Long Beach Catalina Landing. The minke whale is believed to have arrived late at night earlier in the week, possibly Tuesday, during a high tide, but it was unclear how long it could survive in the harbor’s shallow waters. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) officials attempted to help the whale find its way out on Thursday.

Witnesses say that a man captured on video driving through a CarMax dealership in Inglewood over the weekend was upset over the appraisal of his vehicle and may have tried to assault an employee first. Carmax confirmed that the customer was having his vehicle appraised before he put the SUV in reverse and drove into the doorway of the dealership, smashing the glass doors and hitting whoever was in his way.

Officials are telling swimmers to think twice before jumping into the ocean water in Los Angeles County. The warnings, which serve as cautions rather than orders, come after debris from the devastating Palisades Fire was spotted in ocean water off the coast of Malibu. The warnings extend from Las Flores State Beach in Malibu down to Santa Monica State Beach. They’ll remain in effect until further notice.
