Van Alstyne Director of Development Services, Alex Glushko, said the city expects its population to spike. “We’re anticipating the population being above 30,000 by the year 2030,” said Glushko. Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant, Jeremy Cox said the air conditioning units struggled to maintain consistent temperatures. Texas law requires facilities to stay within 65° to 85°.

    SADLER, Texas (KXII) - On Wednesday, the bell rang on summer break for S & S Consolidated ISD as the Rams returned to the classroom. Superintendent, Jeff Russell, said this school year will bring changes to the district. After Labor Day, the S&S will transition to a four-day instructional week. “For us, it was a recruitment tool and also just allow an opportunity for our teachers to have time to plan and to get some professional development that’s needed throughout the year,” Russell said.

From now until September 10, the shelter will look to find fur-ever homes for 58 dogs and 37 cats. City of Sherman Spokesperson, Nate Strauch, said there are deals on pet adoptions during the month.

    SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Driving down East Cherry Street in Sherman can be a bumpy ride over potholes and uneven pavement. This has frustrated nearby residents, including Victor Salazar, as new road projects begin throughout the city. “It’s been in the worst condition it’s ever been,” Salazar said, “You have to go really slow to make sure you don’t hit any random potholes.”Salazar and his family have also made accommodations just to safely back out of their driveway.
