Editor’s note: This story was originally published in August 2021. Besides a brief mention in a story the month prior about Nokomis Regional High School hiring a new head coach, this story was the first time the Bangor Daily News wrote about Cooper Flagg. We are republishing it in anticipation of Flagg likely being selected No. 1 overall in Wednesday’s NBA draft. The earliest date Cooper Flagg could accept a college athletic scholarship is in November 2024.
