    Aman Grewal, the former president of the British Columbia Nurses’ Union (BCNU) who advocated for social justice and raising equality issues, has died. The BCNU and B.C. Premier David Eby took to social media in recent days, saying they were saddened to learn of Grewal’s passing. She was a “fierce advocate” for health-care workers, said Eby. “Our condolences go out to Aman’s family, friends, and all who knew her during this time,” the BCNU added in a condolence message.

    Victoria council unanimously approved BC Housing’s rezoning application to build its largest-ever investment in the region — 900 residential units, including low-income suites, throughout nine buildings along Blanshard Street. Construction on the redevelopment of Evergreen Terrace, an existing 196-unit neighbourhood between Hillside Avenue and Bay Street in Victoria, could start later this year and take 10 to 20 years to complete, reads a staff report Monday.
