MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Many believe Easter is the most sacred holiday. On this day, we remember all we are grateful for. This year at Fellowship Baptist Church in Maryville, there is a great deal more to rejoice in. “Easter is something we celebrate once a year, which is a tremendous time for every church I would imagine, but especially with Josh [Sullivan] being released and able to be back this way, you know we’re just so thankful for what the Lord has done,” Pastor Tom Hatley said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After almost a decade of being closed, the Newport Speedway is back open for business. The reopening of this track has meant so much for the community that some people were waiting bright and early for opening day. “There’s one guy who got here at 9:00 this morning, and he comes every morning, you know every time we’re open, they’ll come and check it out. Everybody’s so excited, we’re so excited to get everybody back here,” Hannah Mills with the speedway said.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Josh Sullivan, a missionary from Fellowship Baptist, has been held for ransom by kidnappers in South Africa since Thursday. Multiple armed and masked kidnappers took him from the church while he was preaching. They escaped by stealing Sullivan’s own truck.
