LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – Some Pennsylvania power customers will see their electric bill increase in June as PPL Electric Utilities will raise their generation supply price. The Allentown-based utility is hiking rates by about 15%, from 10.771¢/kWh to 12.490¢/kWh for residential customers effective June 1. This applies to the generation supply price, or “Price to Compare.” Customers can select a different generation supplier than PPL and potentially find a cheaper price.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Rain during the month of May has dragged on for many folks, but for Lancaster County farmers that rain is needed. “You could see dust coming up from the back of the planter so we were actually getting concerned that it was too dry,” Jeff Frey, a farmer at Future View Farm in Willow Street, said. “This rain is actually welcomed.”The Frey’s were able to get most of their spring crops in the ground before the rain. “I’d say we’re about 80% done with the corn.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Lancaster City Mayor Danene Sorace is not seeking a third term, opening the door for Democrats Jaime Arroyo and Janet Diaz during Tuesday’s primary election. Both candidates currently serve on the Lancaster City Council and graduated from JP McCaskey High School. Primary elections typically see fewer voters compared to a general election, which could potentially make a big difference in Lancaster.

One of the most consistent franchises has turned into a laughing stock because of GM Don Sweeney this last year. Trading a guy who gave us his all - to a team that has left us heartbroken far too much lately. #thankyouBrad

Breaking: The Florida Panthers are acquiring Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins, sources told @emilymkaplan. https://t.co/aeeVKcX2l8

Ridiculous. Montgomery goes 120-41-23 in 2+ seasons. Absolutely stellar. Then GM gives him bottom 10 roster in the league & he gets canned. Stop signing guys out of their prime. #bumGM

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, November 19, that the team has relieved Jim Montgomery of his duties as Head Coach. Associate Coach Joe Sacco will assume interim head coaching duties. 📰: https://t.co/g6eGJ3bmZx https://t.co/x41b6SjbYL
