COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) --- Two people are in the hospital after a shooting at the Cypress Run Apartments located at 3430 Broad River Road in Columbia. Police say they were alerted to the shooting early Sunday morning thanks to Shotspotter. While police were headed to the scene, they got a call about two people who were shot. At last check both victims were still in the hospital, and they’re expected to recover from their physical injuries.

Authorities say it happened Sunday night just before 7' o'clock during an athletic event at the Southeastern Freight Lines Soccer Center. That center is located at 115 Sunbelt Blvd. Officers say the girl’s wrist was injured in the shooting.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – A Midlands non-profit has partnered with a local law firm to help provide free estate planning services. SC Uplift Community Outreach received a grant through the Heirs' Property family wealth protection program. The money allows for the Myers Jackson Law Firm to offer low to moderate income families, free living wills, power of attorney and other estate planning documents. The law firm is known for those services, so they designed educational sessions.

Her family wanted to share her legacy by speaking out in the community against domestic and gun violence.

Varna International is known for connecting musical history with choirs and orchestras around the world. The group is once again bringing Muzika! to the Midlands. Muzika is South Carolina’s Classical Music Festival with several shows to choose from throughout the month of June.
