COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) --- Calling all comic book lovers, if you're looking to meet other like-minded collectors than Free Comic Book Day is just for you. Local comic bookstores like Scratch N’ Spin are taking part in this national event. According to store owner Eric Woodard, Free Comic Book Day was established in 2002, and we’ve participated since 2004. This year Woodard is excited to announce four guest artist/creators are coming to do sketches and sign copies of their work.

It's called the Vietnam Remembrance and Survivors Day program. The group will meet at the Dorn VA Medical Center at 8 am Friday. A convey will then travel from the VA to the Vietnam War Memorial in downtown Columbia.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) ---- Richland County Coroner Nadia Rutherford is set to hold her office’s coroner cadet program once again. The program will take place this summer June 16, 2025 – June 27, 2025. During the two-week program, students who are selected will learn investigative concepts and have plenty of hands-on experiences. Topics such as death investigation, forensic science, body recovery, and connection with grieving families will be covered.

Her 9-year-old cousin Jack Timmerman was diagnosed with a life-altering disease called Batten Disease.
