Three of Sydney's top universities are within five kilometres of the city centre, where median unit rents sit at about $800 per week. The University of Sydney's main campus is in the inner-west suburb of Camperdown, University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is in nearby Ultimo, and The University of New South Wales is in Kensington in the eastern suburbs. All are accessible via at least two modes of public transport, with a mix of buses and nearby train stations or light-rail stops.

He then switched to an engineering degree, continuing on his high-flying path with several awards for ranking on top of his cohort. "If I didn't have that high an ATAR, if I maybe got something in the mid-90s or in the 80s maybe I would have just gone straight to engineering because I wouldn't have been able to get into medicine," he says.
