    THERE were scenes of jubilation at Limerick Racecourse on Saturday as 11 candidates were elected to Limerick City and County Council. Initial tallies gave a good indication of how the elections would go with the vote proper starting at 6:30pm with the opening day of the count concluding at 1:50am on Sunday morning. Five of the six municipal districts saw candidates elected, with all but one of the 11 councillors returning to their seat.
