    An itchy possum recently shocked local wildlife carers when she gave them not one but two “extremely rare” surprises. Shazza, the short-eared brushtail possum, was brought into the RSPCA Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Eumundi suffering from dermatitis. During Shazza’s initial assessment, the team discovered she had a pinky, which is a very young joey who has not yet grown fur or left the pouch. Senior wildlife vet nurse Vicky Toomey said as time went by her pouch began to grow bigger and bigger.

    Happy campers are enjoying the reopening of one of the hinterland’s most popular camping areas after a $2.6 million upgrade. More visitors are now able to enjoy Conondale National Park’s Booloumba Creek 1 camping after works on a major upgrade of the camping area’s facilities were just completed.

    The Buderim region is gearing up for an exciting new sports project, but before it progresses, the community is being asked to help choose the best spot for it. Sunshine Coast Council is on the hunt for a suitable location for a pump track in Buderim and is urging local residents and the wider community to have a say on where it should go. The proposed new project was made possible with $100,000 allocated towards its construction in council’s 2023-24 Budget.
