After 11 years as The Dean, the downtown Providence boutique hotel at 122 Fountain St. is now Neptune. The news comes from Ash Hotels. The Dean was its inaugural hotel when it opened in April 2014. The rebrand will have no immediate impact on the hotel’s operations, the company said. A phased renovation will start later this year that will touch both rooms and hotel common spaces. There are 65 rooms in the hotel.

Two Rhode Island restaurants, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in Warwick and Localz Burger & Cocktails in Tiverton, have closed. J.T. Commons, a new casual dining spot from the Newport Restaurant Group, is slated to open in Middletown this fall. Little Clam, a new restaurant at the Wayfinder Hotel in Newport, will open June 5, featuring locally sourced seafood and produce. Two restaurants have closed in Warwick and Tiverton. A new dining spot is planned for Middletown, opening in the fall.

Narragansett Kitchen & Bar opens at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, offering Narragansett Beer and a tavern-style menu. Located between Gates 14 and 16, the restaurant operates daily from 4 a.m. until the last flight departure. The partnership between Narragansett Beer and Grove Bay Concessions aims to provide travelers with a taste of Rhode Island's history and culture.

Wally's Wieners, a hot dog and burger restaurant, has opened on Federal Hill in Providence, RI, replacing the long-standing Joe Marzilli's Old Canteen. The restaurant features Saugy frankfurters, a variety of espresso martinis and milkshakes, and a menu with unique hot dog creations. While renovated, Wally's retains some of the Old Canteen's charm, including vintage decor and signage. Future plans include a private event space and a speakeasy called the Copper Club.
