MADISON — After weather-aborted practice rounds Tuesday and a pro-am Wednesday, players could draw two conclusions about the 2025 American Family Insurance Championship:TPC Wisconsin is going to be a stern test. And it was a good idea to change to a two-man team format, in part because of (a). “Oh, tough,” Paul Broadhurst said when asked about his initial impressions of the course. “You’ve got to drive it well. TOWN OF ERIN — Maja Stark came to Erin Hills last week with zero expectations. At least, not the good kind. Golf had been kicking her around. The specimen oak that guarded the approach on the par-5 fifth hole at SentryWorld — perhaps the most iconic tree on a Wisconsin golf course — is no more. The tree was “obliterated” by a lightning strike on Friday evening, sending shards of oak shrapnel hundreds of yards in all directions, leaving gouges in fairways and in an instant changing the character of the course’s No. 1 handicap hole.
