A person has died following a moped crash that occurred earlier this month near Florence, S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Lena Butler reported Monday. A 2020 JBLC moped was traveling east when it spilled over into the roadway, Butler said. The driver was transported by EMS to the hospital and died on March 16.

One person died and three others were injured in a collision in Florence County on Sunday afternoon, according to Cpl. Nick Pye of the S.C. Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at 12:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 52 near Kimberly Lane. The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help it locate the suspect in a shooting incident that left one person injured. Amir Marques Brewington, 31, is approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 219 pounds. The sheriff’s office says Brewington should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He’s sought in connection with Monday’s shooting on Cherise Court in Florence. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

A Summerville man has been identified as the kayaker who died on Lake Marion in Orangeburg County. The body of Henry Bryant IV, 44, of Sweetbriar Road was found on Lake Marion on Sunday afternoon, according to Orangeburg County Coroner Sean D. Fogle. A preliminary examination shows that Bryant died of asphyxia due to drowning. The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources continue to investigate the death.
