It has started a website, called the Council Strategic Priorities dashboard, giving insight into how priorities are being advanced. Chair Jim Bradley says public trust and accountability are priorities for this term, and this dashboard provides that window.

A St. Catharines man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants dating back to 2016 has been arrested. Police recently began an investigation of the man, and on Wednesday, they say he was observed in a drug transaction. He was in a vehicle with a woman, he was arrested due to the outstanding warrants, and police found they both had some fentanyl and money.

Construction of two new apartment buildings will proceed in Niagara Falls at the corner of Kalar and McLeod Roads. City council approved this recently, which includes protecting Warren Creek and its floodplain. Architect Peter Lesdow added the site isn't far from nearby amenities. Excitement is brewing in Port Colborne as the cruise ship season gets underway. The city says the reopening of the Welland Canal means anticipation of more than 700 ship visits, between this month and October, and local guides are looking forward to showing the city off. There's been a 30% increase in visits to Great Lakes ports, and a $230-million economic impact.

Thousands of dollars in fines will be paid by the owners of two buildings in Welland for fire safety violations. The Welland Fire and Emergency services tell us between February and March of last year, they responded to several complaints concerning a buiding on Division Street.

Persistance with the same lottery numbers has finally paid off for a Niagara Falls woman. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Laurie Kent has won almost $106,000 from the March 19th Lotto 6/49 draw. She says she's been using the same numbers for 20 years. One day she planned to buy a ticket, then realized she had another unchecked one, which turned out to be the big win. She says she'll travel, and invest in retirement. The ticket was bought at Zehrs on Morrison Street in Niagara Falls.

GO train service from Niagara Falls through to Hamilton and beyond is about to improve. The provincial government says work on the West Harbour GO station, including a recent upgrade, is done, meaning travellers from Niagara will save roughly 15 minutes per roundtrip. The government say West Harbour previously had a dead-end track that required trains to back in and out of the station, but now it's connected to the main Lakeshore west line.

Another appeal for help from police as they search for whoever is responsible for a St. Catharines murder. It was just before 4am, a week ago Monday, police were called to an area of Carlton Street, to find a man, shot, inside a car. He died at hospital. Police are asking for anyone who was in the Carlton Street area, between Vine and George Streets, between 3:30 and 3:42am when the shooting happened, to help. They're looking for video footage, or witnesses who saw anything suspicious.

Police have more details about a suspect vehicle wanted in a hit and run in St. Catharines back on January 8th. Police were called in the early evening to Church and Calvin Street, to find a man had been hit, suffering from life threatening injuries. He's still in hospital. Police have narrowed the search to a 2011-2020 grey Dodge Caravan, with damage to the front passenger side and windshield damage.

A $16-million affordable housing unit is officially opening tomorrow in Port Colborne. CEO of Port Cares Christine Clark LeFleur tells us the 41-unit building, at 9 Chestnut Street, will provide rooms for low income seniors, single parent families, and those who are currently homeless. She says a young mother is moving in, who's been living on someone's couch.
