MURRAY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – As temperatures rise, Intermountain Children’s Health safety experts are reminding parents to never leave a child in a vehicle – even for a minute – to prevent unintended injury or death. One child has died this year, 39 children died last year of heatstroke in vehicles nationwide, according to the National Safety Council. In Utah, 13 children have died in hot vehicles since 1998, with others suffering injuries in close calls.
