Session proposals are now being accepted for the 2025 Upper Peninsula Teaching and Learning Conference, which will be hosted by Michigan Technological University on May 8-9. Presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for 25- or 50-minute sessions or poster presentations to be held on May 9. We are also encouraging presenters to consider proposals for 75-minute preconference sessions during the afternoon on May 8.

by Student Leadership and Involvement This past Saturday, Oct. 26, over 540 Michigan Tech Huskies dispersed across the Keweenaw to Make a Difference in our community. While hour updates are still being collected from participants, our early numbers indicate nearly 2,000 hours of community service were invested in the local area.

Tatyana G. Karabencheva-Christova, from the Department of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University, will be presenting at this week's Chemistry Seminar. The seminar will be held in person at 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in Chem Sci 101. Karabencheva-Christova’s presentation is titled “Revealing Catalytic Strategies of Metalloenzymes.” From the abstract: More than 30% of all enzymes with essential physiological functions contain metal ions in their active sites.
