    Tatyana G. Karabencheva-Christova, from the Department of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University, will be presenting at this week's Chemistry Seminar. The seminar will be held in person at 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in Chem Sci 101. Karabencheva-Christova’s presentation is titled “Revealing Catalytic Strategies of Metalloenzymes.” From the abstract: More than 30% of all enzymes with essential physiological functions contain metal ions in their active sites.

    by College of Sciences and Arts Don Lafreniere (SS) is leading a team of researchers, staff and students from Michigan Tech and Wayne State University on a project supported by a $250,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to support the development of the NEH Community Deep Mapping Institute. The Deep Mapping Institute will run for one year, beginning in January 2025.

    With the fall semester well underway, Facilities Management would like to remind faculty, staff and students that Michigan Tech has a centralized trash collection program in place for campus buildings. Like many other colleges and universities, campus operations shifted to a centralized trash/recycling collection program several years ago.
