Apply now for the spring 2025 Michigan Tech Faculty DC Trip, happening the week of May 4. This trip has a long-standing tradition of connecting researchers to funding agencies and other collaboration opportunities in the nation’s capital city. This spring, the trip will have a health-related research focus. Health is broadly defined. Even if you don’t think you do health-related research, you are welcome to apply and join the trip.

The MLK Planning Committee is excited to announce the 36th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Michigan Technological University! As part of this celebration, we will be hosting the MLK Banquet on Jan. 20 to celebrate King's life and legacy. Due to overwhelming positive responses from the campus community, we are anticipating more of our Husky family attending this year's celebration.

Session proposals are now being accepted for the 2025 Upper Peninsula Teaching and Learning Conference, which will be hosted by Michigan Technological University on May 8-9. Presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for 25- or 50-minute sessions or poster presentations to be held on May 9. We are also encouraging presenters to consider proposals for 75-minute preconference sessions during the afternoon on May 8.

Michigan Tech hockey earned a shutout and a tie in their CCHA road series at Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, at the Slater Family Ice Arena. The Huskies shut out Bowling Green 3-0 on Friday. Derek Mullahy earned his second shutout of the season and the third of his career with 28 saves — including a huge breakaway save early in the game. "Everybody on the team contributed to an important road win," Tech coach Joe Shawhan said.

Hoefinger is presenting a seminar titled "Antiviral Drugs and Open Challenges in Biophysical Simulations." From the abstract:A recent study has confirmed the antiviral activity of the synthetic peptide TAT-I24 against a broad class of double-stranded DNA viruses, for example, herpes simplex, cytomegalovirus, some adenoviruses, vaccinia virus and SV40 polyomavirus.
