    RATH National School will represent Munster in the 2025 All-Ireland FAI Primary 5’s soccer competition at the Aviva Stadium. What a season it has been for the sixth-class boys of West Cork school Rath NS. A talented bunch of emerging footballers came through their initial West Cork round of the FAI Primary 5’s competition back in February. The Primary 5’s is a five-a-side football competition for boys and girls in fourth, fifth, and sixth national school classes.

    CLONAKILTY AFC, Dunmanway Town and Lyre Rovers schoolgirls have continued their positive SuperValu West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League starts. Clonakilty edged Sullane 1-0 to stay top of the U12 Schoolgirls Premier League with April Walsh scoring the winner. U13 Schoolgirls Premier League Group A leaders Dunmanway Town maintained their undefeated start with a 4-1 victory at Castlelack. Clara Nyhan netted for the hosts.

    CORK are through to the 2025 All-Ireland LGFA U14 Platinum final after a commanding 5-8 to 1-7 All-Ireland semi-final win against Mayo at St Brendan’s Park in Offaly. The young Rebels fell behind early on, but dominated the second quarter and changed ends 2-6 to 1-4 ahead. Despite playing into the teeth of a strengthening wind and driving rain, Cork held their opponents to three points during the entire second period.

    ‘WE want to win all of our games’ – that was the defiant message from Cork captain Daire O’Brien, from Enniskeane, after the Rebels kicked off their All-Ireland Camogie U23 Championship with an impressive opening round victory at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday. ‘Every day you go out, you want to win and play well. The performance was the most important thing. Thankfully, we got that,’ O’Brien said after the 14-point win against Kilkenny. ‘We have four tough games coming up in the space of five weeks.
