Reflecting on the past year, it has become clear to me just how fundamentally different this AI revolution is from any other technology shift we’ve seen in the enterprise. We’ve gone from mainframes to minis, client-server to the web, and then on to the cloud. Each was a big deal. But AI is different. It’s about applied math, probabilities versus deterministic outcomes. AI is a whole new ballgame. The generative AI wave was real but short-lived.
