From draft picks to contracts to trades, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta was mostly noncommittal about his upcoming decisions as he addressed the media for the team’s pre-draft press conference. The Ravens use a “best player available” strategy when drafting, so DeCosta did not indicate which positions they wanted to address at the top of the draft. He also did not rule out the chance he makes trades during the draft, and he did not provide details about upcoming contract negotiations.

The Ravens have a star-studded starting lineup with few holes left after free agency. But they need depth behind their stars, and that’s where the draft comes in. PALM BEACH, Fla. — Coach John Harbaugh “fully expects” that tight end Mark Andrews will be on the Ravens roster this season. Andrews holds the Ravens franchise touchdown record (51) and had the third-most receiving yards last season. But there were questions this offseason if he would be a candidate for a trade or a release as he heads into the final year of his contract. General manager Eric DeCosta was vague about Andrews’ future when asked in February at the NFL scouting combine.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The next time Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson signs a contract, it’s going to be top value, John Harbaugh predicted. When that happens is still up in the air, but Harbaugh confirmed at the NFL’s annual owners meeting that conversations with Jackson are on-going. “There’s been conversations about that internally I know,” Harbaugh said. “How far along that is, I don’t know.”In 2023, Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract that reset the market for quarterbacks.
