A 1-month-old girl in Queens died Tuesday after being mauled by her family’s 6-week-old puppy, police said. Officers responded to a 911 call just before 6:40 a.m. at NYCHA's Queensbridge Houses on 12th Street in Long Island City, authorities said. According to police, the infant’s mother had been sleeping beside the child when she awoke to find the German shepherd and pit bull mix biting the baby’s face. The girl was unresponsive when first responders arrived, police said.

Tens of thousands of concertgoers were potentially exposed to measles at a Shakira concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford last week, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. The health department said a person recently diagnosed with the highly contagious virus attended the Colombian pop star’s concert on May 15. Health officials said there have been no other confirmed measles cases stemming from the concert as of Tuesday.
