For the past hour or so, Rumeysa Ozturk told the court about the multiple asthma attacks she’s had while in detention and her conditions there. Now, as a medical expert is testifying, Ozturk’s attorney says Ozturk is having an asthma attack and needs to be excused to bathroom.

For the first time since masked federal officers took her into custody near her home in Massachusetts, Rumeysa Ozturk can be seen by press and public, virtually from an immigration detention center in Louisiana. She tells judge she wants to move forward with bail hearing today.
